Ma'am, I am sorry to bother you, but while doing a search for my sister Sarah Weber, I can across a post you had made in the 2008-election forum. it seems you were communicating with my mother Marie Goodwin (Weber, Dicioccio, Kostos or Kueppers, depending on the name of which ex-husband suites her at the time). i was greatly disturbed to find out she had said i was injuried in Afghanistan (or Iraq). I have had no contact with her for the 8 years I have been in the Air Force and while I did serve in Afghanistan, I WAS NOT injured. I am tired of her using her US "her family" as fuel for whatever cause. She seems to have deleted any reference to my injury, but I was wondering if you had anymore information on the LIES she was spreading about me. Thank you very much for your time!

Amy Weber

here is the post I am referencing:

So, maybe Marie's obsession is based on a childhood of abuse or an abusive marriage or relationship. Or, it could be from the powerlessness and horror of watching a terminally ill child, her daughter Sarah Weber, die by inches (the paper said cerebral palsy, but I read elsewhere it was Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a genetic disease) and not being able to heal her child or protect her from this tragedy? Marie and Sarah became one of Clinton's 50 Faces of Hope in 1992, only to find Sarah taken by a power failure that caused her life support to fail in, I believe, about 1995, according to the newspaper article I read. That must have been a horrible thing to have to deal with. I honestly do feel sorry for Marie and her tragic loss, not to mention her daughter Amy's injuries in Afghanistan (she last said it was Iraq in an e-mail, but I have her telling me to correct the Today's List from Iraq to Afghanistan -- not sure why the confusion, it would seem she would know where her daugther was when she was almost killed), but, although it might be one possible reason for her destructive, obsessive, controlling behavior, it does not excuse it.

Hello Laura,
I have missed your blogs, and I understand how you feel. It is so sad that some of the Obama supporters have taken our party into the swamp of hate. I have watched them spout hate of women, Jews, gays, and anyone who speaks out against discrimination. I am saddened that Obama is our candidate. Hate does not win elections, and the censorship on the Democratic National Committee Party Builder is more than horrific. Keep speaking out and I hope the Obama mafia has not silenced you. I noticed Deb's note to you, and I am fearful because of all the threats that these people have given to other Democrats. I hope I am wrong, but if you get this message, please let me know.

Although I don't anticipate you taking me seriously - I did just want to drop by your website.

As you know I am a supporter of Senator Obama and I am sure I won't earn any respect from your for that - but what I did want to point out - is that you have so much energy and so much drive - that its almost wasteful to use it so pointedly.

Please, I am in no way trying to minimize your efforts or your intent - it's admirable.

I just wish there was a way to get your point of view out there to someone that could be a point of contact for you.

Would you mind if I shared your site with a friend of mine?

Thanks.

Deb W.

You can email me your response - and I will forward it on.

No games - no hidden agendas - but I do know someone that would like to speak with you about your concerns.

Brandi:

A couple of things are incorrect here. Hillary did not advertise in FL. Obama did. He advertised in Mobile, AL, which also feeds Pensacola, FL, and the western panhandle of FL.

The assumption that all PUMAs are going to vote for McCain is inaccurate. I will not. I know many others who feel the same way. But, at this point, there is no indication that Obama is ready to be president or that he can be trusted with the persidency.

I started out as an Edwards supporter, then moved to Hillary when Edwards suspended his campaign. I am a life-long liberal progressive Democrat who is fiscally conservative and socially liberal, just like the Clintons. I believe that the extreme left-wing of our party, led by Howard Dean and the DFA, have taken over the party to its detriment. Obama was one of Dean's Dozen (political talent that Dean chose to mentor and support). The way the party behaved during this election was extremely biased toward Obama. No one in the party, not Dean, not Pelosi, and not Obama, denounced the ugly misogyny that primarily the MSM was practicing during the primary. But the biggest indication of the bias came with all these prominent pols beating the drum for Hillary to drop out of the race WHILE SHE WAS WINNING PRIMARY AFTER PRIMARY.

The RBC was a fiasco and the ruling was a fix before the meeting started. It was delayed for a reason: it made it virtually impossible for Hillary to challenge in time for the ruling to positively impact the primaries or the votes of the SDs, which was Dean's plan from the outset.

The caucuses were tampered and rigged. There was voter fraud even in the primaries. And voter registration for Hillary supporters was challeneged -- just like Obama challeneged all seven of his opponents' petitions to run when he ran for State Office. It shows a pattern of behavior, of not playing fair.

But the final straw was Obama's vote for the FISA amendment. That pretty much did it for me. I had contributed to his campaign up to that point, and, after that, I realized he could not be trusted with my Constitutional rights and civil liberties.

I'm sorry, but your case is elegantly made, however flawed, and I respect your attempt to try to argue for your candidate.

But he must argue for himself Thursday night. And what he says and does will determine the outcome of this election, nothing else. Hillary cannot win or lose this election for him. She does not control him or his campaign. She does not own my votes or the votes of her supporters. We are adult, thinking human beings who will make the decision ourselves. And it will be based on what he says and does from here on out.

I must tell you, though, it's not looking good for him. he has screwed up in many substantive ways.

After all, issues come and go, it is the charater, experience and judgment of a human being that qualify him for the presidency. And judgment is not about one decision made in the safety of not having to cast a public vote. It is a lifetime of decisions. Sitting in the pew for 20 years listening to hate speech and Black Liberation Theology (black supremacy) from Rev. Wright. Affiliating and supporting a church that made a tribute to Louis Farrakhan. His relationship with Bill Ayers. His "Bitter" comment back up with his statement about how his grandmother was a racist.

Obama was asked just a little over two weeks ago, maybe three, What are his plans for the Clinton supporters that have not followed throug and back him? "Those people? ...I am not going to bother with those people."

Well, we are inclined not ot be bothered with him either.

You reap what you sow. And Obama and his campaign and his supporters have sown the seeds of divisiveness and disrespect toward Hillary (i.e., releasing his VP choice at 3 a.m., just to give Hillary the virtual finger), and it will be up to him to lead all of you back to party unity.

Quit blaming the Republicans, or PUMA, or Hillary, or Hillary's supporters for your candidates weaknesses and flaws. If he loses this election, it will be his fault and no one else's.

Laura,

I think you underestimate the lengths that some would go to to insure that neither Hillary or Barack get elected, and how they've carefully sown seeds of discontent between factions in the Democratic Party. Clearly you see how they've played on the insecurites of Obama supporters, people who have been gravely afraid that the "Clinton Machine" somehow will use their powers and influence to steal the election from Obama when he is so close and how they overreact to any hint of skepticism about his nomination. Obviously you've been in contact with many who feel Obama's nomination is a clear sign of shady dealings and a "Chicago Machine" robbing Hillary in the same way that Obama supporters would be led to feel the fix was on had Hillary won (that her name was the only one on the MI ballot, that she knew to advertise in FL despite it being made clear from the outset of the race that those delegates wouldn't be seated at all for having an early primary would all be used as circumstantial evidence). There would be no difference between the anger and bitterness you feel and that which Obama supporters would have. In that scenario, Hillary, Bill and their supporters would become the fascists. Just as you're being fed unsubstantiated suppositions regarding BO's birth certificate and misleading information regarding associations with black liberation figures, Republican (if you can even call them that, these are imperialist oligarchs that play that side as well as they play ours) operatives have on hand information that is meant to raise suspicion about Hillary's connections to 1960's California counterculture groups, including the SLA, as well as manufactured evidence meant to lead to the supposition that she herself had an abortion before Chelsea with a man other than her husband.

They've put it and the supposed real father away (and whatever else they think they've got) to use in 2012, figuring that enough Hillary supporters will jump the Obama ship to sink his presidency. If you, the other PUMA's and the paranoid Obama supporters are any indication, I believe that they might be right and you're about to help elect another insider in the real machine that will continue that rightward shift of America's political body as we've become a nation fighting for the truly elite few over the desperate needs of the many.

I don't know if Obama really helps stop this shift, the forces against him won't give up even if he wins, but I know that he's at least sincere that he wants to try. Please look closely at the man and his family without all the noise. If you get a chance, go to a rally and try to meet him or Michelle personally, or at least talk to somebody who has or who really knows them. They are not the monsters you make them out to be, just as Hillary is not the monster she's made out to be by some of his supporters who haven't even tried to scratch beneath the surface. Please, the only way they win is if we allow them to divide us.

David:

Regarding the "3 a.m." test, I feel Obama failed because he failed to understand, or at least convey that he understood, the true nature of Putin's move toward imperalism in Russia.

Consequently, this "we'll negotiate diplomacy" is impotent and ineffective against an imperailist threat. Putin does not respect negotiation or diplomacy in this case, he merely uses it to his advantage to buy time to refortify.

Notice he has not moved out of the occupied positions, and, in fact, the Russia parliament has passed resolutions saying that Georgia is a part of their territory historically, therefore they have a right to invade, occupy and annex.

If you read my blog on this site entitled "This is how it starts..." you will see my thoughts on this subject. I am not a hawk in most instances, but I do believe that Putin requires more sticks than carrots right now. To do otherwise is to entertain the possibility that a sovereign state does not have the right to territorial integrity.

The U.S. was wrong to invade Iraq. And now we are reaping the punishment of our crimes through our loss of moral authority and standing in the world. It is pretty hard for GWB to look Putin in the eye and say it's OK for the U.S. to do it, but Russia can't. That is, however, exactly what he is doing, and Putin is rolling his eyes at GWB.

This is where we see what we lost when we invanded Iraq unprovoked and with no real justification.

My dad always told me, "you can't fight crazy." When a person refuses to acknowledge any possible common ground between themself and their opponent, a real discussion is by definition impossible.

I've read your blog, and I'd like to compliment you on your thoroughly researched, reasonable opinions. Like that part in your recent post where you quoted the great political analyst, David Cronenberg. Or the section later, where you refer to Obama's organization as "gang-bangers." Nice, and still classy at the same time.

I'll not go through each of your claims, as that would take far too much time, and I fear this comment box would run out of space. However, I'll simply take one and subject it to a tiny bit of scrutiny. You say Senator Obama "failed the 3 AM test" when Georgia was invaded, because of "his fear of making a decision, a commitment." This claim is laughable on its face, largely because the man hasn't yet been elected. You never say what he did that made him "fail" in your eyes, beyond the line I just quoted.

Unless you have evidence to back up your claims, then they remain just that: claims. I could claim all sorts of stuff about you based on your comments on this blog, but I won't. Why? Because I don't feel qualified to render judgment on you; I don't know you, we've never met, and all I have to go by is this blog you write. I disagree with your positions vehemently, but I don't believe you're a bad person.

But by couching your claims using inflammatory language like I described above, or by referring to a vast left-wing conspiracy keeping your voice from being heard, you de-legitimize any potential impact your claims may have. I'd simply like to remind you of that. Your voice is being heard, believe me. But don't expect to go unchallenged when you repeat lies, or make them up. And don't expect as much civility and respect from others when you refer to Senator Obama's supporters as "fist-bumping Kool-aid drinkers."

Oh, and one more thing. Please don't forget Occam's razor. Oswald killed Kennedy, the U.S. DID land on the moon, and there is no left-wing conspiracy against you. Cheers!

My dad always told me, “you can’t fight crazy.” When a person refuses to acknowledge any possible common ground between themself and their opponent, a real discussion is by definition impossible.

I’ve read your blog, and I’d like to compliment you on your thoroughly researched, reasonable opinions. Like that part in your recent post where you quoted the great political analyst, David Cronenberg. Or the section later, where you refer to Obama’s organization as “gang-bangers.” Nice, and still classy at the same time.

I’ll not go through each of your claims, as that would take far too much time, and I fear this comment box would run out of space. However, I’ll simply take one and subject it to a tiny bit of scrutiny.
Laura, I found your post about your experiences at the Obama blog sad. If you will at least take a cruise over to Hillaryclintonforum.net, you will find many of us who feel abandoned by the Democratic Party. By the way, you are freee to post whatever you like, no "deleting" of opposing views.
